Terms of Use
Version 1.0. Effective date: 20 October 2026.
The short version: static codes are free, made in your browser and work without us. Editable codes need a free account and go through our short link. While we run the service, active codes never expire: an editable code keeps working until you pause or delete it, or it breaks the acceptable use rules below. If we ever close, you get at least 12 months' notice (section 10). Pro is A$29 once, with a 14-day refund (one per person), and what it includes is never reduced for people who bought it. You're responsible for what your codes point to.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms apply to QR Code Maker at qrcodemaker.maxpower.studio, its guide pages, accounts, and the short links on qrmaker.link that editable codes use (together, "the tool"). QR Code Maker is run by MaxPower Studio (ABN 31 362 180 362), based in Australia ("we", "us"). By using the tool you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the tool.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to use the tool. If you use it for a business, you confirm you're allowed to act for that business.
3. What the tool does
Static codes. The tool makes static QR codes in your web browser, with no sign-up. A static code stores what you enter (a link, Wi-Fi details, a contact card and so on) inside the pattern itself. It doesn't go through our servers when someone scans it, so it keeps working whether or not the tool is online, even if we close. It works for as long as what it holds is valid: for example, a link only works while that website is online. Codes, logos and files are made on your device and we don't receive them.
Editable codes. An editable code holds a short link of ours. When someone scans it, our server sends them to the link you set, so you can change it after printing. Editable codes need our service to be online. A free account includes 3 editable codes with editing, pausing, schedules (a different link by day, time or date) and simple scan counts. An active editable code never expires while we run the service. It keeps working until you pause it, delete it, close your account without freezing it, or it is blocked under section 7. If we ever close the service, section 10 applies.
Changes to features. We may add, improve or change features. We won't reduce what Pro includes for people who already bought it (section 5), and a change to features or to these terms won't by itself pause or stop your active codes.
4. Accounts
- You sign in with your email address: we email you a link and a 6-digit code, and there's no password. When it's offered, you can also sign in with your Google account. Keep access to your email or Google account safe, because anyone who can use it can sign in.
- One person may hold more than one account only for a good reason (for example, work and personal). Making many accounts to get around the free limit isn't allowed, and we limit how many accounts can be made from one network each day.
- The free plan includes 3 editable codes. We don't accept email addresses from throwaway email services.
- Fair use limits. So editable codes can't be used to rotate scam links, each account can make up to 5 link changes in any 24 hours on the free plan, and up to 1,000 on Pro. Making an editable code, saving a change to any of its links (the main link, a schedule rule's link or a phone link; one save counts once) and restoring a code from the Trash each count as one. Each becomes available again 24 hours after you used it. Pausing, turning a code back on, renaming it and changing its style don't count. Undo straight after deleting a code doesn't count. Deleting a code doesn't give a change back, and codes in the Trash count toward your editable codes until they're removed for good, 30 days after you delete them. If you delete or close your account, its codes still count for a new account with the same email for 30 days. These limits never stop an active code from working.
- Deleting a code. If the code was scanned in the last 30 days, we ask you to type its name to confirm. Deleting moves it to the Trash for 30 days, where you can restore it. While it's there, people who scan it see a "paused" page. After 30 days it's removed for good: anyone who scans it sees a "this code no longer works" page. Its short link is never given to anyone else.
- Closing your account. You can export your data, or close your account at any time from the account page. "Delete my account" deletes your account and your editable codes stop working. "Close and freeze" deletes your account but keeps your active codes working, frozen on where they point at that moment, with no way to edit them later. We may remove a frozen code if it breaks section 7.
- Unused accounts. If a free account has no codes and hasn't been signed in to for 2 years, we email you, and delete it 30 days later unless you sign in. Accounts with codes are never deleted this way.
5. Pro
- Price and what it includes. Pro costs A$29, plus any sales tax, GST or VAT that applies where you live, paid once, with no subscription. Nothing renews. It's tied to your account and adds: up to 500 editable codes, up to 1,000 link changes a day (section 4), different links for iPhone and Android in one code, 12 months of scan totals by device and country with CSV export, and bulk static codes from a CSV file. Bulk editable codes and bulk edits from a CSV file will be added to Pro when they're ready, at no extra cost.
- Never reduced. We won't take away or cut down any Pro feature for people who already bought Pro, for as long as we run the service.
- Payment. You pay through Stripe. Stripe's Managed Payments service (shown as Link) takes the payment, works out and collects the tax, sends your receipt, and acts as the seller of record. Your receipt may say "Sold through Link". Stripe's and Link's own terms apply to the payment itself. We provide Pro, run the refund rules below, and are the people to contact about any problem with Pro.
- Refunds. You can ask for a full refund (including any tax) within 14 days of buying, from the account page or by email, with no reason needed. These change-of-mind refunds are once per person: we don't give another one for a purchase by the same account, email address or card. This limit never applies to a refund the law gives you (section 13). See the refund policy.
- When Pro ends (after a refund, or when you open a dispute with your bank), you choose which 3 editable codes stay on. Your other codes keep working for 7 days, with a notice in your account and an email, then they pause. Nothing is deleted. If you buy Pro again, paused codes come back on.
- Bank disputes. Pro ends while a dispute is open. If it's decided in your favour, Pro stays off. If it's decided in ours, Pro comes back.
6. Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for what your codes contain and where they point, and for having the right to link there.
- Check every code before you print or share it. Scan it with your own phone, ideally two different phones, and test a printed copy before a large print run. The print check and scan test help, but they can't promise that every phone will read every printed code in every light.
- You must have the right to use any logo, name or image you add.
- Keep your own copies. Static codes, designs and logos you save in the code maker are stored only in your browser, so they can be lost if you clear your browser data, use private browsing, change device or click "Clear my data". We can't recover them. Use "Export backup" and keep the files you download. Editable codes are stored on our servers with your account, and you can export them from the account page. Codes you already downloaded or printed keep working either way.
7. Acceptable use and takedowns
Don't use the tool to break the law, or to make codes that send people to:
- phishing, malware, scams, or fake government, bank or delivery pages;
- crypto, investment or prize scams, or anything that impersonates a person or organisation;
- child sexual abuse material, or other illegal content;
- hateful or harassing content, or spam;
- adult content without a clear warning on the page first;
- other link shorteners or chains of redirects that hide where a link goes.
Don't interfere with or overload the site.
We check the links of editable codes when you save them and regularly after that, against our own rules and lists of harmful websites (see the Privacy Policy). Anyone can report a code from its preview page (add "+" to the end of the short link). If a link looks harmful, we may block the code straight away, show a warning page instead of sending people on, or pause it while we review reports. We may also pause or remove a code when a court, regulator or the law requires it. If we take a code down, we email you and say why, unless the law stops us. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email and a person will look again. We may disable an account that breaks these rules more than once or in a serious way; its other codes then stop working. We may report serious abuse, such as child abuse material or fraud, to the police or other authorities.
8. Your content and our site
What you type and upload stays yours. For static codes we don't receive it. For editable codes we store the name and links you save, so we can run them. You may use the codes and files you make for any lawful purpose, including commercially, with no attribution. The site itself (its design, text and code) belongs to MaxPower Studio or its licensors. Frame text uses Noto Sans, under the SIL Open Font License. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
9. Other services
The site, our database and the short links are hosted on Cloudflare. Emails are sent by Resend. Payments are handled by Stripe and its Managed Payments service (Link). If you choose Google sign-in, Google confirms who you are. Link safety checks use public lists such as PhishTank and, when those checks are turned on, Google Web Risk and abuse.ch URLhaus. The Privacy Policy says what each one receives. Codes can point to websites and apps run by others. We're not responsible for those websites or apps.
10. If we close the service
If we ever decide to close QR Code Maker or stop running editable codes:
- We'll give you at least 12 months' notice, by email to every account and on the site.
- During the notice period you can export all your codes and account data from the account page.
- Every active editable code keeps working for the whole notice period. Towards the end we may freeze each one as a fixed redirect to where it points at that time; fixed redirects keep running until the notice period ends.
- The short-link domain (qrmaker.link) is paid for in advance, so it can't lapse during the notice period.
- Static codes don't depend on us and keep working.
- If you bought Pro, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other laws (section 13) still apply.
If someone else takes over the tool, they must keep these terms, including this section, for existing codes and Pro buyers.
11. The tool is provided "as is"
Subject to section 13: we work to keep the tool and our short links accurate and available, but it's provided "as is" and "as available". Editable codes depend on our service being online. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
Subject to section 13, and to the extent the law allows: (a) we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue or data, or printing costs; and (b) our total liability to you for all claims about the tool is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim arose or, if you haven't paid us anything, A$50.
13. Australian Consumer Law and your statutory rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, and sections 11 and 12 don't apply to them. Where the law allows our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee to be limited, it's limited (at our choice) to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again. If you're a consumer in the EU, UK or elsewhere, you also keep the mandatory rights your local law gives you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top will change, and the change log below says what changed. For a material change that is worse for you, we'll email account holders and show a notice on the site at least 60 days before it applies. If you bought Pro and don't accept such a change, email us before it applies and we'll give you a full refund of what you paid for Pro, whenever you bought it. Smaller changes (for example clearer wording or new features) apply when we publish them. If you keep using the tool after a change applies, the new terms apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. This doesn't take away any right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live under mandatory consumer law.
