Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Make and download as many static codes as you like, in every format, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Do the codes expire?
No. A static code holds its content inside the pattern, so it keeps working as long as the content does (for example, as long as your website is online). It doesn't depend on us.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static code. An editable code points to a short link you can change at any time. You get 3 free with an email sign-in, or up to 500 with Pro.
Where are my codes saved?
Only in this browser on this device. Use Export backup to keep a copy or move to another device, and Clear my data to delete everything. Clearing your browser data also deletes them. Codes you already downloaded keep working.
How big should I print it?
A common rule: the code should be at least one tenth of the scan distance wide. From 30 cm, make it 3 cm; from 2 m, 20 cm. Set the print size on the last step and the check tells you if it's too small. See the print size guide.
What does the scan test do?
It decodes the exact image you're about to download, in your browser, then tries again with it smaller, blurred, tilted and in dim light. If any of those fail, try more contrast, a smaller logo or a bigger print. Nothing is uploaded.
Why do my colours fail the check?
Phones need a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Light codes on dark backgrounds, or two similar colours, often don't scan.
Static or editable?
A static code stores what you enter in the pattern itself, so it works without us and never expires. An editable code points to a short link you can change after printing (3 free with an email sign-in).
What is error correction?
How much of the code can be damaged or covered and still scan. Higher levels survive more damage but make the code denser. Auto picks H when you add a logo and M without.
Where does my logo go?
It stays in this browser. It is drawn into the files you download and is never uploaded.
Which file should I use?
PNG for screens, documents and social posts. SVG for websites and design apps. PDF and EPS for print shops: they're vector files and stay sharp at any size.
How do bulk codes work?
Bulk codes are part of Pro. Choose Bulk from CSV in the menu. Upload a file with a name and a content column (a link or text). Every code gets the current style and you get one ZIP file. It all happens in your browser. Without Pro you can still read how it works and download the template.
